For those who are unfamiliar with the story of the Misha’al, she was a 19-year-old Saudi Arabian princess who belonged to the royal family. Being a member of the royal family necessitates that you conduct yourself with dignity and that you do not interact with just anyone, including the person you wish to marry or get married to.

Nobody is exempt from the harsh arm of the law, whether they are from the royal family or not, according to the rules of the kingdom. When it comes to relationships, people must exercise extreme caution, especially when they are members of the royal family.

Misha’al was the adored daughter of Muhammed Bin Abdulaziz, the then-Saudi Arabian King Khaled Bin Abdulaziz’s blood brother.

As a member of the royal family, the marriage partner must be picked from among the person’s relatives, who are usually near cousins. Misha’al was not a fan of this type of society, but after being exposed to it while studying overseas, she felt compelled to change her mind, and she fell in love with a man who was also a student.

She fell in love with a Lebanese male while studying at a university in Lebanon, and she was well aware of the difficulties she would face as a result, but she couldn’t do anything about it because she was just like any other girl who would fall in love with anyone. Even though her boyfriend, Khaled alsha’er Mulhallal, was the son of a Saudi ambassador, the marriage was illegal under local rules.

The only way the two could save themselves was to flee their country and seek asylum in another country where the same rules did not apply. However, before they could leave the country, the two were apprehended by authorities at the airport, and such an offense was serious and even punishable by death.

After the two were apprehended attempting to flee the country, they were meant to be punished according to the law, with the possibility of a reduced sentence if they rejected the charges.

The two were charged with adultery, but to be punished, they had to openly admit to being involved in adultery. Even one’s parents will not be able to save her from the wrath of the law if she confesses with her voice. That is why the parents did everything they could to prevent their daughter from making such a terrible confession, but to their surprise, their 19-year-old daughter confessed to having committed adultery, and not even her parents could save her.

Misha’al’s parents will never forget the 15th of July, 1977, when they witnessed their daughter being executed in public and having her neck severed in front of them.
