This has frustrated many Nigerians and they protested in several parts of the country as they could no longer deal with the high cost of living.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in January, reported that the food inflation rate rose to 35.41% year-on-year, marking the highest level of food inflation in history.
However, in a recent report, the prices of food items across various markets have dropped in the past week.
A survey carried out by ThisDay showed that food items such as Indomie, sugar, rice, beans, semo, spaghetti and macaroni have decreased in price.
