In the video, Paula and her mother were hugging each other when a man, who is believed to be their relative, asked Paula about the progress of her relationship with Marioo. He asked if the dowry had already been settled, and the girl replied with a shy smile that Marioo was doing fine and had already submitted a dowry of TSh 100 million (KSh 5.8 million).
The relative seemed to doubt the amount of dowry even as Paula claimed the whole amount belonged to her mum.
The 21-year-old Paula broke up with another Tanzanian singer, Rayvanny, before shortly after announcing she was in a relationship with Marioo.
The video has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some people congratulating the couple and others questioning the authenticity of the video.
