Afegbua speaking in an interview with Arise Tv has argued that the South-South is more deserving to get the Senate Presidency after the contribution given to Bola Tinubu in the last election.

He also added that the region has not produced a Senate President in this dispensation. According to him, zoning the ticket to the region will be a payback for supporting Bola Tinubu in the Presidential election

He said, ”The South-South has been strategic in the collective aspiration of the country and the economic consideration of the country. And they are also strategic in terms of the kind of support they give to Bola Tinubu.

Knowing fully well that the South-South has always been the Stronghold of the PDP. The APC was able to penetrate the South-South this time, they won Rivers state and also coming second with over 46% of the vote in all other five states of the South-South.

So for me, it will be cheering news to have Senate President from the zone. It was only in 1983 that we had Joseph Wayas. In this dispensation, the South East has gotten it five times in eight years spread, they have also been deputy senate President for 12 years.

That makes a total of 20 years. I think what the South East want is the President of the country and not the Senate President. But the South-South need the Senate President at this time…..CONTINUE READING
