5. Graza

Graza Sizzle is the brand’s primary cooking oil. Importantly, the Graza packaging is also one that keeps olive oil in a dark, opaque, plastic container safe from light, heat, and oxygen, which New York Magazine writer Emma Wartzman has noted to be “enemies of olive oil”. One drawback (as some readers may see it) to Graza’s olive oils is that they are made from olives picked in Jaen, Spain. This means that the packaging and shipping supply chains at Graza need to be highly efficient or they lose out on freshness. However, the raving reviews about Graza indicate that consumers rarely ever complain of a lack of freshness in Graza. The company henceforth seems to be doing something right in its logistics in addition to just manufacturing.

4. Kosternia

Made from Koroneiki olives in Greece, Kosternia boasts having greater than 500 mg/kg olives, which is 8-10x more than typical olive oils. Their Original Extra Virgin Olive Oil also comes at a slightly higher price point of $29.95 (compared to the $17 Graza Sizzle) placing it in the premium olive oils category.

3. California Olive Ranch

Ranking highly on ‘Best” lists for Men’s Health, GQ, EatingWell, and Food & Wine, California Olive Ranch is nationally known as the go-to for high-quality olive oils. California Olive Ranch now has expanded its product portfolio to have Vinaigrette Dressings in addition to EVOOs that it previously manufactured. The final feather in this olive oil product’s cap is the fact that it has now also been a two-time winner of the New York International Olive Oil competition in 2022 and 2023.

2. Brightland

Most recently the target of Graza’s Co-founder Andrew Benin’s accusations of being a ‘copy-cat’, Brightland seems to be getting attention for a variety of reasons. However, major review sources such as New York Post have remarked its taste to be ‘divine’. CNN has similarly had raving reviews of Brightland and complimented its 410-degree Fahrenheit smoke point. Despite controversies, it is to be noted that Brightland is still very clearly one of the best olive oils one can buy in the US.

1. Branche No. 1 & 2

The two variants of Branche differ in taste, Branche No. 1 has a bold and herbaceous taste while Branche No. 2 has a more delicate and buttery taste. Both of these are priced at $40 per unit, which is higher than most other high-quality olive oil options on this list however their quality speaks for itself. Reviewers from the Quality Edit have called it “Spanish gold in a bottle”. The CEO Carlos Agudo has made it a point to source Branche’s olives from a single farm run by a seventh-generation farmer, located in Andalucia. The higher-end consumers of America have now taken a liking to Branche as well, hence its high ranking in our sources.
