Some of our Nigerian celebrities have also had their fair share of child losses and here is a list of them.
1. Joke Silva
Veteran actress, Joke Silva and her husband, Olu Jacobs lost their only daughter, Dayo Jacobs to the cold hands of death many years ago when she was age 10.
According to Joke, she had been in a coma for a while over an undisclosed illness but had to be removed from life support when there was no improvement.
The celebrity couple has two sons, Olugbenga and Olusoji, and are grandparents to a girl.
2. Aisha Falode
Ace sports journalist, Aisha Falode lost her only son, Oloruntoba Falode in Dubai where he was studying. 19-year-old Toba who was studying Audio Production in Dubai, was said to have fallen off the balcony of the 17th floor of the Manchester Towers, Dubai Marine, where he resided; but his mom said eyewitness accounts show that her son was pushed to his death.
3. Iya Rainbow
Veteran actress, Idowu Philips popularly known as Iya Rainbow lost her daughter, Sola Osborne to ulcer complications on January 14, 2016.
According to reports, the deceased who was a prophetess was always on marathon fasting which aggravated her ulcer condition.
She had collapsed the evening she died after returning from a retreat.
Sola died at the age of 46.
4. Eucharia Anunobi
The news of the death of Raymond Ekwu, the only child of actress cum evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi came as a rude shock to everyone.
Raymond died from complications arising from sickle cell anemia on August 22, 2017, at the age of 15.
Shortly after his death, Eucharia revealed in an interview that her son was mistakenly killed by his doctor.
5. Remi Oshodi Surutu
The popular Yoruba actress also lost her first daughter, Ayomikun to sickle cell anemia complications.
Ayomikun succumbed to death on July 2, 2017, after a crisis at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
6. Chioma Rowland Adeleke
Chioma lost her son, Ifeanyi with Davido after he drowned in a pool at his father’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos State, in October 2022.
