In the most recent presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the standard bearer for the All Progressives Congress, defeated Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State. He has subsequently established his legal team to contest the President-elect’s victory, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, rigged the presidential election results in the President-elect’s favour.
Peter Obi responded after seeing Wole Soyinka, saying, “Today, I visited Prof. Wole Soyinka, one of Nigeria’s most beloved personalities and an international literary giant. Because of what he has accomplished and what he stands for in the fight for a better Nigeria, Prof. Soyinka has been a father to me who I cherish in the highest regard. He also shared with me many of his dreams for a bigger and more inclusive Nigeria.
