According to Afegbua, the APC Senators in the region were responsible for Tinubu’s crushing loss in the presidential election and hence have no right to run for the presidency of the Senate. He made these remarks in an interview with TVC.
Further, he stated that the South-East should not be considered for the slot when evaluating the contributions of each geopolitical zone in generating Tinubu’s president.
He argued that the senators have no moral standing to seek reelection to the job of Senate President because they have already held it five times.
While APC senators from the South-East were busy crushing their opponents at the polls, they stood by and watched as Tinubu took a humiliating loss. They have finally come out and declared their candidacy for Senate President.
