Brave kidnap victim escapes during trans-loading in Nnewi

Information has it that the man was able to remove his blind fold and took to his heels when the Mercedes Benz Utility Vehicle (SUV) car the gang of five came with developed fault.

It was learnt that while the abductors were making effort to snatch another car at Emecourt Road Junction, Nnewi, a Highlander Toyota jeep from an unsuspecting motorist, the man braved it, removed his blindfold and ran into a nearby local market, while the gang sped off with the remaining four.

The gang who stormed Nnewi in a Mercedes Benz Utility Vehicle (SUV) which they allegedly snatched from the owner at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the State, blocked a lady and forced her out of her car to join three victims that were already inside their car.

According to an eye witness, “The hoodlums who operated with lightning speed left before the security operatives including local vigilance group and police arrived the scene.”

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said he was yet to receive the report.
