According to Carol, during her time in campus, her female friends used to go for free screening for cervical cancer, but they discouraged her, saying the process was painful. However, when she found a job and had to undergo a medical test, one of the tests included screening for cervical cancer.
The test was conducted, and she left, forgetting about it. One day, while passing by the hospital, she decided to pick up her results. The nurses informed her that the results indicated she had cervical cancer. Since the doctor was not available, she was asked to return on Tuesday.
Unable to wait, she went to another hospital, where the same results were confirmed. She couldn’t believe it because she didn’t have any symptoms. When the doctor explained to her, he told her that they had to remove her uterus. She was discouraged since she was young, but luckily, she had a baby when she was in campus.
She traveled to India, where the surgery was performed. Afterward, she decided to go back to school and learn about healthy eating habits and herbal medicines. While teaching, an older man who had brought a very expensive car for her told her to sleep with him to check how women without a uterus taste.
Carol mentioned that when she explains to men that she has no uterus, they often cut off communication and disappear. She has advised women to go for screening because when cancer is detected early, it can be treated.
