Following the final whistle, Bellingham shared a heartfelt moment with his family, bringing his brother Jobe, father Mark, and mother Denise onto the pitch. He presented his match-worn shirt to his mother, along with a kiss on the cheek.

In a memorable gesture, Bellingham left his family to embrace José Mourinho, who was present as a pundit for TNT Sports at Wembley. He then invited the legendary manager to meet his family. Mourinho greeted Denise with a polite handshake, and the pair posed for a photo.

The lighthearted moment continued off the pitch when Rio Ferdinand, part of TNT Sports’ punditry team, burst into laughter while watching the footage. “Did you hear what he just said?” Ferdinand exclaimed. “His mum has fancied him for years.”

Bellingham’s debut season at the Bernabeu has been nothing short of extraordinary. He scored 23 goals in all competitions, helped secure the league title, and was voted La Liga’s player of the season. Reflecting on the night with TNT Sports, he said,

“I’ve always dreamed of playing in these games. When it gets hard at times, you start to wonder if it’s all worth it – but nights like tonight make it all worth it. It’s got to be up there in terms of the perfect season. I can’t put it into words, it’s the best night of my life.”

Despite his current success, Bellingham showed respect for his former club, Borussia Dortmund. In an interview with DAZN, he acknowledged their strong performance in the first half.

“I have to be honest, they [Dortmund] were the better team in the first half. They could’ve been two or three up. But it’s just that character… [we can] come back to haunt you. The club I’m at now is so special to me and so is my old club. It wouldn’t be possible without them. I’ll always be grateful and always have respect for what that club did for me.”
