Hassan Adekunle, the spokesman of the Service, reported that the brigade was notified about a tanker, with registration number KW 117XB, transporting 20 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), leaking profusely around 06.41hours.
Upon arrival, the fire crew found a loose valve on the tanker causing the hazardous leakage, and promptly initiated their operation to cool the tank and enable the tanker driver to close the valve.
Despite their efforts, a noticeable leakage persisted, prompting the fire crew to accompany the tanker to its destination, Imam Filling Station, to avert any potential disasters. They ensured the safe syphoning of the LPG.
Falade Olumuyiwa, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, commended the operatives for their swift response, and urged the general public to prioritize safety.
