The Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, stated on behalf of DHQ that the Armed Forces of Nigeria had not been asked to bring about a change in the nation’s political leadership.

He continued by saying that individuals disseminating such information are those who do not desire the nation well.

The DHQ spokesperson also vowed the Nigerian Military’s loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and asked the populace to disregard the lies being spread because the military is dedicated to advancing democracy in Nigeria.

“The Defence Headquarters is concerned about a false and disturbing social media report that has been twisted to state that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) received a request to effectuate a change of leadership in the country,” the statement reads.

We would like to take this occasion to state once more that the AFN has never received or issued such a proclamation to anyone or any group. We think that people who don’t want the country to succeed made this declaration. It is unquestionably the evil imagination of a select few people who are not content with the advancement and prosperity of our beloved country.
