According to a press statement issued and made available by the Public Affairs and Media Department of the Elerinmo in Council, Baba Bojesomo died around the early hours of Tuesday 20th June, 2023, having spent over one hundred (100) years on earth.

While speaking on the death of Baba Aladura, Prophet Joseph Bojesomo, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, Special Apostle Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi JP, Arowotawaya II, described the death of the Spiritual Head of Ori-Oke Erinmo as a colossal loss to humanity. He extolled the spiritual and sterling leadership qualities of the late Great Prophet, describing him as a dogged, committed, pious, amiable, and patriotic leader.

Oba Arowotawaya revealed that Baba Bojesomo confided in him about his imminent death a few months ago, sometimes in 2022. ” I was on a visit outside the country when I got his message which said I needed to come and see him physically as soon as possible because lle ti nto lo (meaning it is about to go home) and that God has a message for me from him ahead of his departure”.

When I returned to Nigeria, I went to see him immediately, and he repeated the message that his time was up and that God asked him to pray for me and hand me a special gift. The late Prophet then went inside his room and brought out a new white Yoruba Bible which he asked us to hold together and with which he prayed for me and later handed it to me as a gift to keep close to my person even after his departure with specific instructions on the usage. The incidence was recorded on video for posterity. Glory be to God.

Even though Baba hails from Efon-Alaye town in Ekiti State, which shares boundaries and ancestry with Erinmo town, he was the spiritual head and Baba Aladura of Ori-Oke Agbara in Erinmo.
