It remains to be seen whether any investigation will be conducted into the borrowed funds, or whether Kazaure’s claims will be substantiated. However, his statements have certainly added fuel to the ongoing debate about corruption in Nigerian politics, and may have implications for future elections and government policies.
During a recent interview with Brekete Family, Honorable Muhammed Gudaji Kazaure made some startling claims about former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
Honorable Gudaji Kazaure said, “if investigations are done regarding the twenty trillion naira the Central Bank of Nigeria borrowed federal government, I am sure seventy percent of the money was stolen by the cabals and other officials of the Buhari administration. I am sure President Muhammadu Buhari did not take a dime from the money. I can even tell you that President Muhammadu Buhari does not have up to hundred million naira (N100m) in his bank account till he left office.”
