Amachree went on to describe the northern governors as strong proponents of democracy, highlighting their commitment to power rotation and their significant contribution to Tinubu’s success. According to him, once President Tinubu concludes his two terms, no candidate from the South will attempt to contest for the presidency. He asserted that any Southerner who dares to run for president after eight years of Tinubu’s administration will face rejection by the South.
In Amachree’s view, the champions of democracy are the northern governors who firmly advocated for power rotation, a decision that has had a resounding impact and will continue to resonate for years to come. This pivotal action led to the South gaining the opportunity to hold the presidency
“I want to say that there are champions of this democracy. There are champions of the coming of President Bola Tinubu and those champions are the northern governors. They made a statement that is so loud and will remain loud for many years to come. They insisted on power rotation and it was because of that singular action that power rotated to the South.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the statement made through power rotation will create an environment of continuity and stability in the selection of the president.
