The political feud between the Imo State government and former Governor Rochas Okorocha has intensified, with Barrister Enyinma Onuegbu, Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) to Governor Hope Uzodimma, challenging the former governor’s claims of participation in the state’s recent political processes.
Speaking during an appearance on TVC News’ Politics on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Onuegbu accused Okorocha of being absent from grassroots party activities and operating entirely from outside the state.
Challenging Okorocha’s assertions regarding the May 18 primary elections, Onuegbu stated:
“He did not participate, was never seen. I challenge him to provide pictures, videos of anywhere he participated in any event pre the primaries of 18th of May. He did not. I’m a stakeholder. I live in this state. I’ve lived in this state for 33 years now.”
“After the primaries, he came back to Abuja where he’s been resident for the past almost seven years, whatever we have done in state to put APC at the grassroots of Imo politics, he’s not been part of it. He has resided in Abuja consistently since the governor took office and has not participated in anything party. Even when the governor did the road that leads to his family compound, he refused to come for the commissioning, which he didn’t do for 8 years.”
