A team of police officers on visibility patrol in Warri, the capital of Delta State has reportedly recovered a locally fabricated pistol from two suspects who fled during a routine check of a tricycle. Commissioner of Police Wale Abass confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
According to Edafe, the Police team had stopped the commercial tricycle with registration number BUR 240 VC conveying two male passengers.
“When the team accosted the tricycle for a routine search, the two men jumped out and escaped,” he stated, saying that a search of the abandoned tricycle led to the recovery of the incriminating item.
