VerseNews reports that the announcement was made on Thursday in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity titled ‘President Tinubu appoints managing director of Ogun-Osun river basin development authority’.

Woke, described as a seasoned engineer and politician, has previously held positions such as Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and Chief of Staff at the Port Harcourt Government House.

The Ogun–Osun River Basin Development Authority, established by the Federal Government, falls under the Ministry of Water Resources.

Formally inaugurated in 1977, its mandate includes water resource management and integrated development initiatives.

Tinubu emphasized the importance of integrity and transparency in Woke’s role, urging him to prioritize the region’s water resources for industrial, agricultural, and community development.

Woke, previously a chief of staff to former Rivers governor Nyesome Wike, resigned from the cabinet of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in December 2023.
