CHELSEA have not yet made a decision on the immediate future of the young man, The 20-year-old is only under contract at Stamford Bridge for another year, and there are quite a few clubs that are very much interested in a transfer deal.
But speaking to Sky Sports News after Ipswich sealed a top-two finish, he revealed that he wants to stay at Portman Road for a little while longer.
“I hope to stay at Ipswich Town also next season. We’ll see my agent and the manager says… I am speechless. It’s the best loan I could have ever imagined!,” Hutchinson said.
Now Ashton has opened up and revealed that he would like to have Hutchinson back at the club for next season and will have to hold talks wit Chelsea over a possible deal for the winger.
Asked if he might be able to deliver that present, Ashton smiled and replied: “Listen, you never know. It’s really early at the moment.
“What Kieran’s done with Omari from day one, how he’s developed him, is incredible. He’s gone from a bit-part player, to a mainstay in the team, to someone who has really impacted the team.
“We’d love to have him here for sure, but that would mean discussions with Chelsea, with his agent, with him, with his family etc. All of that will take a little bit of time.”
Hutchinson has proved that he is a very good player in the Championship – he has developed very nicely and it would be a very smart idea from Chelsea to see just what he is able to do in the Premier League.
He is not quite ready to challenge for a place in that CHELSEA side next season – but one or two seasons in the Premier League could push his development very nicely as he will probably play ever week.
The best thing for him right now is another loan – he cannot be sitting on the bench every week.
