The Arsenal No.41 got in touch with the player after England’s 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday, writing a few endearing words on Instagram to suggest they have a close relationship, one we could soon see blossom at the Emirates Stadium.

So, which Arsenal target received a message from Declan Rice? Let’s take a look…

Well – according to Sportslens – Arsenal are keen to buy Ivan Toney from Brentford this summer, with Edu Gaspar under the impression that he could be signed for £60m.

The Brentford No.17 has certainly impressed in recent seasons, and managed to score his first goal for England on Tuesday as he made it 1-1 against Belgium.

While on international duty, Toney and Rice appear to have struck up a close friendship, with the £105m maestro writing “my brother man❤️” on Instagram after the 2-2 draw.

The 27-year-old has now scored five goals in 11 appearances for club and country this season.

At this moment in time, Arsenal are believed to have some doubts about Toney – despite holding a desire to sign him.

A story from Chris Wheatley mentions that some people within the Emirates Stadium have not been impressed with how the man from Northampton has behaved in recent matches against the Gunners.

Toney has been involved in clashes with Gabriel Magalhaes – while the Arsenal fans let off a loud cheer after William Saliba put the striker on his backside.

However, Rice is already an influential figure at Arsenal, and the 25-year-old may have the power to change opinions at the Emirates Stadium.

Toney has clearly made a good impression on Rice, so if the striker continues to come across positively towards the likes of him, Bukayo Saka and other key figures at Arsenal, Arteta and Edu may decide to push for a deal regardless of the concerns.
