After the party, City People Reporter, Oyindamola Adinlewa interviewed him during which he explained how he has been sustaining and managing his church, despite being a King. Below are excerpts of the interview.
For the purpose of this interview, can you introduce yourself sir?
I am Oba Alamu Oloyede Kehinde Arobadi 1, The Paramount Ruler of Kosofe and the Chairman of all Obas in Kosofe Local Government.
How did you see your 16th year coronation celebration?
We thank God for everything is possible with God, if God say it will be possible it will be if He says yes no one can stop Him.
How have you been running the ministry despite being a King?
I thank God. I give Him all the glory for calling me into his ministry. I have been in the ministry working for God since 1979. It was a serious battle that led me into it. I was a staunch Muslim, I studied Quran in 1945, when the battle came, I returned back to where I studied Al-Quran nothing happened. All my friends in Islam did their best that all their efforts proved abortive. When God set to deliver me, it was a woman that took me to a man called Micheal Ankra; he is late now. He prayed for me with anointing Oil and water, even though I didn’t believe in what he was doing because I had already seen his garment hung on the wall and I concluded in any spirit that they brought me to fake and hungry people. I couldn’t talk but I was meditating within me and I can hear what people were saying around me. But all of a sudden I felt a strange movement in my spirit and I heard “Iranse” (My Servant) three times. I don’t know what that means. He said, “xxxxx the lepper was asked to bath, but he complained”.
After hearing that voice I carried my bucket of hater and bathed after bathing someone that couldn’t talk for over 6 months, on getting home I started talking. The following day I rushed back to the man of God. I told him that Jesus that you called into the water I bathed with, I want to see him. He said I can see him but not like that. Then, I enquired further on her to see Him, I asked him to allow him to enter into his room to see that Jesus. He was just looking at me. I want back into the church and I carried the Cross.
I held it unto my chest shouting I want to see Jesus. He told me to calm down if truly I want to see Jesus. I left there and came back home to meet my father who was still on the throne as Onikosi of Ikosi. I packed my clothes, my slippers and all my belonging and I left home for church. And I was there for good 17 years without returning to the palace. They searched everywhere for me before they later found out I was living in the church. The man also took me like his son and I really gained a lot from him. He taught me so many things. After learning from him he gave me Prophet Certificate.
I also requested for Pastoral Certificate but he denied me, he said he doesn’t have that power, only if I can go to Bible College and I went to a Bible College, Victory Bible College in Igbe. I spent 3 years there to become a Pastor. When I came back I heard about Colombia Bible University in Agric and I went ther to studied. In my first 3 years there I got Kosofe Commandant, in another 3 year I got Brigadier General.
After that, I started the work of God fully. People always invite me for their programmes. I was preaching at every programmes, without collecting a penny.
Most times I will even paid for my ticket with the people with me. I will pay for my hotel myself. Why was I doing that? It’s because Jesus told his disciples to go ye into the world and preach the Gospel. I travelled to South Africa, London, many places without taking kobo from anybody. But in Ikare they heard about me, and they came to me with one elderly man called Sogbesan from Ile-Ife. He took me to Ikare and I was welcomed like a King.
They took me to the mountain and later they pronounced me as Baba Aladura. After 4 years they made me Deputy General Aladura Worldwide. That was how the whole journey started till date.
How many household is entitled to the throne of Onikosi of Ikosi?
Onikosi of Ikosi started from Pa. Kehinde Edun Arobadi. We have 2 households they were twin brother. They were 3 initially with their Idowu before he died without any children it remain Taiwo and Kehinde. So the throne is between Taiwo and Kehinde household till date. And they had a constitution every male and female of their children are entitled to the throne but that would be if there is no male again. Though, I have changed the narrative.
