The incident took place at a hospital in Novorossiysk, Russia, where doctors removed the parasite from the man’s forehead after he developed a painful lump above his left eye. Initially suspecting an infection from a mosquito bite, medical experts were taken aback by what they found.
Using surgical tools, the doctors made an incision into the lump and successfully extracted a thin, white roundworm. These worms are parasitic creatures that can survive in the bodies of humans and other animals, often causing symptoms such as diarrhea and fever.
