Arsenal currently sit. Despite this, Silva offered some hopeful words for the Gunners’ fans prior to their clash with the champions next weekend.
“We are going to try and win the game as always, Silva vowed. “It’s clear from me, we are going to try, 100 per cent.
“We are going to play against one of the best teams in the world, if not the best in my opinion. But, as always, more so at Craven Cottage, we are a really tough team to play against and we’re going to give a really tough game for City as well.”
However, Fulham’s recent goalless draw with local rivals Brentford might have slightly dampened the spirits. The match lacked the expected derby fervour, despite Bryan Mbeumo hitting the crossbar and Raul Jimenez missing a significant opportunity for Fulham.
Arsenal are continuing to pile pressure on City as thetitle race enters its final fortnight, with Saturday’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth their fourth on the bounce since losing ground against Aston Villa last month.
City, though, have shown no sign of dropping points. They know that wins against Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham will confirm a fourth consecutive league crown.
