It has come to our attention that certain individuals or groups are engaging in the malicious act of impersonating the Honorable Minister across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), WhatsApp, and others. . These impersonators are using fake and fictitious profiles to disseminate false information, mislead the public, and potentially engage in fraudulent activities.
The Ministry views this trend with utmost seriousness, as it not only tarnishes the reputation of the Minister but also poses significant risks to unsuspecting members of the public who may fall victim to misinformation and scams.
In light of these developments, the Ministry urges the public to exercise caution and vigilance when interacting with online content purportedly associated with the Minister. We advise citizens to verify the authenticity of any social media profile claiming to represent the Minister or the Ministry, especially if it solicits personal information, financial resources, or promotes misleading narratives.
To address this growing concern, the Ministry is collaborating closely with relevant authorities and social media platforms to identify and take appropriate action against those responsible for impersonation and fraudulent activities. Additionally, efforts are underway to raise awareness among the public about the risks associated with fake social media profiles and provide guidance on how to identify and report such instances effectively.
We urge members of the public to report any suspicious activity or encounters with fake profiles to the Ministry’s designated channels or directly to the respective social media platforms. By working together, we can combat impersonation and protect the integrity of public institutions and officials.
The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the welfare of the people of the Niger Delta region. We remain dedicated to serving our constituents with honesty and integrity, and we will not tolerate any attempts to deceive or defraud the public.
