Njoki was born and raised in a local area. After completing her studies, she met a man and entered into a relationship which eventually led to marriage. Her husband worked as an accountant in a government office.
Their marriage was good, and they were blessed with three children. They had managed to build rental houses on her in-laws’ land. However, her husband applied for a transfer to another location without informing her.
He left when Njoki was pregnant. After six months, he told her to sell her business and join him in the new location. She complied with her husband’s request. Upon arrival, her husband asked her to give him all the money she had.
After a month, she started noticing changes in her husband’s behavior. He began drinking alcohol and staying out late, sometimes for a week without returning home. Whenever she asked him what was wrong, he would beat her.
Her husband stopped providing food and sent her children to collect scraps from the market. On the fateful day, her husband left home as usual. Two hours later, she received a call from the police officers asking her to come to the police station.
She was informed that her husband was caught with someone else’s wife and was hit on the head with a blunt object, resulting in his death on the spot. She informed her in-laws who arranged for the burial. She has advised couples to be faithful to their partners.
