According to him, after he grew up and became a man, he married his first wife whom they met in town. He paid for her dowry, and they started living as husband and wife. After many years in marriage, his wife failed to conceive.
He claims that his wife was very worried and thought that he might leave her for another woman. She went ahead and advised him to marry her younger sister. He couldn’t believe it, and he went to his in-laws and asked if he could marry her, and they agreed.
At first, the younger sister had refused, but when her elder sister talked to her, she accepted. He paid the bride price, and the three went home and started living together. The second wife was blessed with six kids, and the first wife treats them as her own.
The people in his village say that he must have been brainwashing the two sisters, and that’s why they agreed to marry the same man. But he says that as long as they are happy, people can say whatever they want, and that doesn’t bother him.
He says that they live in the same house in peace and they do farming to provide for their children. Dieudon says that two women married by the same man should always give him peace of mind and love each other.
