Obilana, who said this in an interview with Daily Independent, described the launch as lacking transparency and canvassed that the incoming minister should be someone who understands the aviation industry very well.

“On Nigeria Air, there is no transparency from the onset. Some people described it as a fraud. For eight years, the former minister was there he did not constitute a board, then eight hours to the expiration of his tenure he constituted a board.

I don’t think the board was even sworn in, so it was like a kangaroo kind of board he constituted, deep within him he knows that what he did was not right.

“I pray the incoming Minister of Aviation will be a technocrat, a person who understands the industry very well, he should be a man of integrity, because if you don’t have a man of integrity at the helms of affairs, transparency will not be there and the industry will not grow,” he stressed.

Another sterling quality, he hopes the incoming minister possesses is a proven track record.
