In addition, Mr. Oseni Rufai said he disagreed with some people who frequently claim that Nigerian citizens should not hold politicians accountable in public, calling this as a bad idea.
He revealed this during a speech on The Morning Show, a political program on Arise Television. He continued by saying that since officials may disclose their assets when taking office, nothing should prevent them from disclosing their health information as well.
Additionally, he mentioned that there was an American President who used a wheelchair but was elected a third time, noting that all he was asking for was accountability. He also took the chance to reflect on what transpired and how things turned out in 2007, when former president Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was elected.
