According to sources revealed to Ireporteronline, Amokachi has declined the contract offered by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), raising concerns about his relationship with Finidi.

Despite speculation that Amokachi was imposed on Finidi by the NFF, President Ibrahim Gusau has dismissed such claims, stating that Finidi and his team of assistants were chosen based on merit.

As the Super Eagles prepare to face South Africa in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers matchday three at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, tensions remain high in the camp.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. (Nigerian Time) on Friday, June 7, 2024, and will be broadcast live on DSTV and the official YouTube channel of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
