Chelsea have just got a £5m cash injection sent from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard who retired months ago!
The Telegraph have the story and as they explain, Chelsea will land a £5 million bonus from Eden Hazard’s deal to Real Madrid after the Spaniards reached the Champions League final.
Hazard was sold to Real in 2019 for a £130 million package with more than £40 million in add-ons dependent on performance, with the latest triggered after Carlo Ancelotti’s team got past Bayern Munich to get within one victory of being crowned European champions.
Hazard was one of the best ever players to play for Chelsea, and we can certainly say that we enjoyed his best years as a player in his peak.
At Real Madrid injuries plighted his time there and it all came to a sad end. But Hazard will not only go down as a footballing legend, he will go down as a Chelsea player and one of the best to every do it at Stamford Bridge.
He was the kind of player who was just pure magic, he could make a goal out of absolutely nothing. He was a world class dribbler and it was sometimes impossible to get the ball off him. Being a unique player with a solid build and a low centre of gravity, he could just dribble with ease past player after player.
