Reactions to Cardinal Onaiyekan’s insults following Shehu Sani’s tweet about them regarding election remarks

Recall that while appearing on a Channels TV interview on Thursday, Onaiyekan, who is the Archbishop Emeritus of the Abuja Catholic Archdiocese, argued that swearing Tinubu into office as President while the courts are yet to deliver judgment on petitions filed against him “made no sense”.

As expected, the Clergyman’s remarks have been greeted with scathing criticism from spokespersons of the APC and a host of its supporters on social media.

However, reacting to the backlash via his Twitter handle, Senator Shehu Sani expressed his displeasure at the insults hurled at the clergyman for sharing his opinion.

He wrote; “I thought it’s only Peter’s supporters that harass people for their opinions until I read such toxic comments against John Onaiyekan. Those who preach tolerance should practice tolerance.”

Quite interestingly, the former Lawmaker’s tweet has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians online with many trooping to the comments section to share their thoughts…..CONTINUE READING
